Getting started
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every plan includes a 14-day free trial with full access. No credit card required to start.
Do I need to install anything to get started?
No. The HR management, leave, attendance, and payroll modules run entirely in your browser. The desktop agent (for automatic time tracking and screenshots) is optional and only needed if you want employee-side productivity monitoring.
How long does setup take?
Most teams are up and running within a day — create your company, invite employees, and configure leave types, shifts, and departments. The desktop agent installs in under 2 minutes per machine.
Can I migrate from another HR tool?
Yes — reach out to sales@deskviu.com and our team will help you import your employee, leave, and attendance data.
Pricing & billing
How is pricing calculated?
Pricing is per employee per month. You pay only for the seats you use, and you can add or remove seats at any time.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Charges are prorated to the day.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept all major credit/debit cards and UPI via RazorPay. Annual billing is available at a 30% discount.
What is the AppSumo lifetime deal?
We occasionally offer lifetime deals on AppSumo. Each code unlocks a fixed number of employee seats permanently, with no recurring charges. Codes can be stacked to add more seats at any time.
Time tracking & the desktop agent
Which operating systems does the desktop agent support?
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) and macOS 12+. The installer is around 45 MB and needs about 4 GB of RAM minimum.
How does screenshot monitoring work?
The agent captures screenshots at a configurable interval (5–30 minutes), which admins set per team. All data is sent to DeskViu's cloud over encrypted connections.
Can employees see their own tracked data?
Yes — employees can view their own time logs, screenshots, and productivity scores from their dashboard; visibility settings are configurable by the admin.
Does the agent slow down employees' computers?
No. It's built to be lightweight and runs silently in the system tray with minimal resource usage.
Security & data
Is my company's data isolated from other customers?
Yes — each organization's data is kept separate and access-controlled. Only your company's admins and authorized employees can see your data.
Is data encrypted?
Yes — all agent-to-cloud communication and web traffic uses encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.
